Filming of Second Scene (Arena)

4/5/2025 - First Draft of Arena

Inspired by Fire Emblem Fates' opening theme (from 0:57 to 1:14), which shows the four royal siblings with their weapons in a circle, I want to do a turntable with the four classes also in a circle to showcase each of them one by one.

This is the first draft I did.

I added Niagara Mist/Fog to cover the rest of the arena space around it and give it more of a mystical field. I'm planning on fixing the camera tomorrow. Right now, it's very janky.

I also used a new Grey Gradient Skybox as the original sky one ruins the immersiveness I was going for, I choose a grey so it adds to immersion and will blend with the Niagara Mist/Fog

5/5/2025 - Adding Idle Animations and improving on the camera.

I added Idle Animations for all classes/roles so that they won't be in T-pose at the start when it rotates.

I finished the animation sequence for Paladin along with the narration and Camera filming.

I changed/improved the camera rotation using a centre pivot to make the rotation smoother.

6/5/2025 - Adding the Assassin animations and Niagara effects next

I added the next upcoming sequence for the Assassin next, I rotate the Camera using the same centre pivot from last time, and rotate the classes using another centre pivot that has the models  as its children class so that the assassin camera view would be not block by the pillars in the arena and added a Ninja like effect on it disappearing when the camera is moving through the pillars and reappear with a smoke-explosion like effect.

I also added a mesh particle Niagara effect using a dagger mesh for the Assassin to hold temporarily before I make it disappear. It was inspired by Genshin Impact character weapon's appearance and disappearing effect.

7/5/2025 - Adding the Archer animations and narration

I added the archer animation, filming and narration for today, I also added Mage narration as well, which I will do tomorrow

8/5/2025 - Adding the Mage animations,  narration and Fireball and Lightning Niagara effects

Added Mage animations to sync up with the narration, added fireball and Lightning niagara effects to showcase the mage powers and added a shaking camera effect for the lightning to show the impact.

8/5/2025 - Making an end portal for the end of scene 2.

I made a portal that also shows what the fantasy world looks like for the end sequence

9/5/2025 - Adding a white fade out using UI for the first time and finishing the entire scene 2 sequence.

I tried to use fade track at first to do a white fade in, only to find out that fade track can only be used once per sequence, and I already used fade track to do a black fadeout at the beginning of the sequence. I have to find alternate methods to do a white fadeout, My solution was to find out how to use UI in Unreal to create a white screen to use as a fadeout. It took me the entire day to learn how to do it, definitely the hardest challenge in this project by far.
